### Re: Machines B/C 4 Graphs and Data Tables?

Hello, For my data tables, I used Trial Number vs Weight Ratio and Trial Number vs Distance Ratio for each ratio such as 2:1, 3:2, etc. I linked the table below. Is this sufficient for the competition if I make one for each ratio? https://drive.google.com/file/d/16L8OthmejIxoa4lU4VuY3sWgOCfOuiAp/vie...

### Re: Machines B/C

I built a prototype with a meter stick as the beam. Would this be a good material for the event as well, or will I need to use metal? From the rules, I understand the maximum weight the beam should bear is 800 grams. Will a wooden beam be fine for carrying this weight?

### Re: Calculating Ratios

I recorded values with a 200-gram counterweight and received the correct ratios with a 0.3 margin of error. Thank you for all your help. https://drive.google.com/file/d/0B1EbHXDF4nqqSnR5dVhVdk1vRElkc1pnUlVNMERJYk1qSWNz/view?usp=sharing https://drive.google.com/file/d/0B1EbHXDF4nqqRC16NGZXNEpnSGNCV0l...

### Re: Calculating Ratios

Then, should you use the counterweight while testing, or take it off before putting the masses on? Thank you for taking time to look at my question!

### Calculating Ratios

My design for the Class 1 Lever is shown below. However, when I tried testing it, the ratio of weights wasn't the same the distance to the fulcrum ratio. In fact, it was far off. For the fulcrum, I drilled a hole and used a threaded screw to attach a meter stick cut to 79.5 cm length. The weight rat...

### Re: Division B - Hang Two Weights at a Time or Three

During the competition, are the unknown weights going to be Ball Bearings or solid single weights? If I use a simple container to hold the weights, they need to be centered or distributed uniformly. I did a trial with single solid weights and as they moved around the container, they affected the bal...

### Counterweights

This is the first time I am doing this event for Division B. Any help is greatly appreciated. The power points say that in the practicing stage, you need a counter weight. When you take the measurements of two or more unknown masses, what is the purpose of the counterweight, or is the counterweight ...

### Re: FAQs

During setup, do they allow one team member to go to the other end and check alignment of the vehicle OR both members should only be on the launching side?
Please clarify ASAP. We have regionals in 5 days.
Thanks.
