It's December and I haven't really studied yet oops, so this may be a dumb question. Are we expected to be able to definitively ID things based on picture alone or will there be cases where we'll need other identifying info in order to accurately ID?

Any tips on differentiating Equus from Mesohippus based on the skull only? What about the teeth?
The eye socket for Equus is higher on the skull than Mesohippus's. Equus teeth are also very flat, versus Mesohippus, which are crowned.

How do you tell apart Hairy Whitetop and Whitetop? Just finding a legitimate picture of Lepidium appelianum is hard enough.
