Re: Information Please!
Hi, I've been looking into starting science olympiad. How much time commitment is required generally? What is the preparation like? I am currently a sophomore in high school, is it too late for me to start? What else is important to know before I join? Any pros and cons, other tips or information w...

Re: 2022 Nationals
in fact I'm planning on making a discussion thread for recovering team registrations and the like next year once Nationals is over. But, it's something that's much easier to accomplish at the point of state, regional, and invitational tournaments, which can and do run on minimal budgets and are eas...

Re: 2021 National Tournament: Arizona State University
Lol CA Div B is so imbalanced. That Kennedy score is half what they got in 2019 and JT almost did the same.
Tho there are a number of trial events that will cancel some of that out.

Re: Replaying Events for 2021
So... who thinks next season is going to happen, at least as we've known Olympiad to exist? Universities are talking of moving classes online for at least the fall ... schools are talking about A/B schedules or expanding the school day somehow ... Bill Gates and others don't think large gatherings a...

Re: Replaying Events for 2021
I would be curious what the percentage is of teams who have not yet competed in anything, vs teams that have been competing in invites for months now or already had their regional. If most teams have given this set of rules a run, then I think it should be okay to move on as planned for 2021, but if...

Re: Covid-19 and Nats/States
My understanding is the national organization recommended this evening that all states cancel any remaining qualifying tournaments (regional and state tournaments). I expect a continued flood of cancellations in light of this. I didnt want to quote the email I received for Norcal, but it did have a...

NorCal also cancelled now. Feel free to update the map.
I imagine most that are left will follow Nationals' lead.

Re: Covid-19 and Nats/States
I would clarify that it's not 100% certain that future rotations won't be affected by this change (especially those beyond the next few years). I could see some committees pushing to return certain events on the original timeline on the basis of it having been a while since they were in rotation. T...
