Re: Southern California 2017

Shocker in San Diego tonight at the Division C regional: 1. Del Norte 2. Canyon Crest Academy 3. Westview 4. Torrey Pines 5. University City 6. Rancho Bernardo? 7. Sage Creek 8. Mt. Carmel 9. Francis Parker 10. ? Don't have the point breakdown yet, but everybody was expecting CCA to take it again.

Re: Southern California 2017

The San Diego regional is this weekend. Based on the invitationals, Oak Valley looks strong. Can they knock off Carmel Valley for the top spot in the regional? I'm with the Mesa Verde team. On paper, our top team is stronger than the team that finished third in the regional last year, but not as goo...

Re: Road Scholar B

How are people dealing with the statement in the 2017 PowerPoint saying they are de-emphasizing the quadrangle maps and are going to use more satellite and free maps instead? Where did you get the powerpoint? Our school got the 2017 Biology-Earth Science CD. The 2017 Road Scholar Event Overview Pow...

Re: 2017 Event Groupings

Erasmus Wembley, since you're asking for the SoCal State schedule, it'll be released this weekend. Your Regional (San Diego) schedule will be posted after that. We typically post the schedule over Labor Day weekend. And yes, I can also confirm Chalker's conflict blocks since I also have my rules ma...

Re: 2017 Event Groupings

Is this confirmed? If I recall correctly, in the past there have typically been more than 2 events in a single conflict block... Seeing as how I personally helped develop the National schedule, and I have some of the first physical copies of the Rules Manual sitting in front of me right now, I can ...

Re: 2017 Event Groupings

Just for comparison purposes, can someone post the event groupings for this year's nationals? At the Southern California competition, it was: Bio-Process Lab Road Scholar Picture This Invasive Species Meteorology Write It / Do It Anatomy Fossils Reach for The Stars Food Science Wind Power Crime Bust...

Re: 2017 Event Groupings

Noting that you are apparently in SoCal, last year the tentative schedule for state was posted in November. I can't figure out when San Diego usually posts schedules, but it's probably not very late. I seem to recall that we had the schedule when we were creating the teams in early September. We di...

2017 Event Groupings

Does anybody know how the events are going to be grouped for 2017 or when they are going to be announced? We're trying to form our teams, but it's difficult not knowing if events are going to conflict.

Thanks.

Re: Southern California 2016

Overall C division results were about what I expected in C division, B division had some interesting surprises (Mesa Robles beating Jeffrey Trail, Mesa Verde getting the same score at states as at regionals- but then again Mesa Verde has a long and glorious history of getting third, if you look bac...
