Re: SciolyDex - A Fresh, New, Professional Test Trading Firm
I highly doubt it, but he probably used the word "firm" to make it sound appealing for people to join? If it's money though... that's REALLY not something he/she should do. Probably the former, but there are almost no penalties for scamming virtual items in the United States. So, it's ver...

Re: SciolyDex - A Fresh, New, Professional Test Trading Firm
This is a bit late and I stopped checking the forums seemingly just before this "trading" business blew up, but I just have to ask: Why the heck are people scamming people of Science Olympiad tests!? I mean, I've traded virtual items worth a hefty lot, so I know there can be value in digit...

Re: Hovercraft B/C
This may sound like a really dumb question but I'm an extreme newbie to this event. Does the hovercraft float on the air-contained skirt or is there a little bit of plain open air beneath the skirt? Some reading here may help. https://scioly.org/wiki/index.php/Hovercraft#Skirt We are having good re...

Re: Washington 2018
Camas is ready for this season :) Oof. Camas sure looked good last year. No doubt that they'll look great this year as well... A quick question Kyanite: did the national medalists from Camas last year graduate? I believe that's what I heard from a Camas Papermaker in Ohio last year, and I'm just cu...

Re: Hovercraft B/C
I used delta(x)=v(initial)t+1/2at^2, one of the kinematic equations.
I also got 24 meters.

Re: Hovercraft B/C
Nooo... my "tape a textbook into my notes binder so it doesn't fall out" strategy is a no-go this year! Slightly disappointed, but it's good to see that the rules committee thought to patch this loophole. Anyone else use this last year too? EDIT: Realistically though, the textbook didn't h...

At least they know they'll make it to nats for the next 46 years. Rip everyone else in their state.Froggie wrote:In 2065 they won't make it to nats.Tailsfan101 wrote:Does this mean if they're still going in 2064, they'll finish last?kenniky wrote:

Re: Scioly Summer Study Session 2017
I think it would be beneficial if unapproved submissions were released. That way obviously the people with access to the SSSS would have more material... and also, if the owner of the unapproved submission doesn't continue to work to improve it... someone can pick off where he/she left off so we co...

Re: Scioly Summer Study Session 2017
How many test usually end up on SSSS by the end of the the session? Just wondering... In the range of 20 or so total - at some point I'll count them. It tends to increase every year. Edit: I counted, there were 17 approved submissions from last year. That means there were likely around 50 total sub...
