Re: Ohio 2019
Since this thread has been quiet for a while, what are people's predictions for how states is going to turn out? As a curious grad it's kinda hard to judge how the teams are doing just from occasionally checking spreadsheets of results lol For Division C: 1. Mason 2. Solon 3. Centerville 4. Mentor

Re: Test Set Exchange Update
I think that for those of us who act as both a tournament director and a coach, then our obligation to be impartial should in fact inform the rationale of our test release policies. When deciding who should get our tests after the tournament, we are still acting as directors, not as coaches. Otherw...

Re: Ohio 2019
On the subject of the race to advance out of Ohio, I've recently seen a lot of conjecture and posturing, but very few organized facts. Here is what we know: Northview: Both Mason teams beat one Mentor team, which beats both Solon teams, who beat the second Mentor team. This is a hard invitational to...

Re: Ohio 2019
Final results from the Sylvania Northview Invitational for Division B and Division C . Alright, so it looks like Mason has dropped a bit, although not massively - if they make Nationals I would place them in the 6th-8th range. Solon looks about the same as last year, perhaps very slightly weaker, a...

Re: Unofficial Rankings C
However, if history is any guide, first time qualifiers tend to under-perform in their debut at the National Tournament. I would think that Mason's experience at MIT makes this less of an issue. Also, that usually applies to lower-tier teams. I don't think we've ever seen a situation where a team t...

Re: Unofficial Rankings C
I think many of these rankings might be overestimating Mason by 2-5 places. They have definitely had an amazing season, including a stellar performance at the Ohio State Tournament yesterday. However, if history is any guide, first time qualifiers tend to under-perform in their debut at the National...

Re: Ohio 2018
Looking at the results from the Ohio invitational season, it seems to me that a fairly clear hierarchy has emerged as the season wrapped up. Mason remains the clear front-runner. Solon finished the season much stronger than they started. Behind them is Centerville, followed by Mentor. Here is my jus...
