Re: Prebuild kit length

Hi Everyone! I've discovered a dilemma. Ok, so the prebuild is 5keg.pdb, right? It's residues 31-145. That means there are 115 residues (including the first one, 145-31= 114, plus one is 115). That means, at the standard scale of 2cm per amino acid, I should need 230 cm. However, the kit is only 22...

Re: Michigan 2020

I don't know what the Michigan state office has been telling teams, but their website has the unclear statement that SO Inc. "advised" that teams should be limited to 15 members. I feel it's unlikely that the national office required Michigan to revert to 15 members per team; after all, New Jersey ...

Re: Michigan 2020

Coaches got an email from the State Director: Michigan Science Olympiad is not allowed to increase their team size to 17, so they are going back to 15 per team for this year.

Re: Michigan 2020

There are 6 testing blocks, no surprises That isn't a surprise? Or have I mixed up MI with some other state... They went to 5 testing blocks last year. Before that it was always 6. I'm only a little surprised they went back to 6 blocks this year; I'm sure they got more than a few complaints. Althou...

Re: Michigan 2020

Was it announced somewhere that the number of teams at the State tournament will be reduced? Do you know how many?

Haslett (MI) Invitational

The Haslett Science Olympiad Div. C Invitational will be Jan. 18, 2020. Notice this is one week earlier than our usual weekend. Circumstances beyond our control forced the date change. Price is $65 per team. Last year, 90% of the teams qualified for their State Tournament and we expect to have anoth...

Re: Michigan 2019

For the 2020 season, Michigan Science Olympiad will allow teams to register 17 members for any competition within the state. Source: http://miscioly.org/more-of-a-good-thing-team-size-17/ I think the State got some complaints when they made the state tournament only 5 time blocks last year. With 3 ...
