Re: Machines B/C

I've started to make the graphs but the rules on data are kind of confusing. "i. 2 points for including data spanning the possible mass ranges" How would you collect data from the specific masses? Check the Machines section of the NCSO website for an example of what will be considered an acceptable...

Re: Your Daily Random Comment

/Mini Rant/ I know a lot of people like Excel, but as someone who uses it a lot at an advanced/niche level for work, I find it extremely frustrating. I would never pay money for such a piece of trash, and I think it only became popular because of its novelty and Microsoft's platform. /Mini Rant Over/

Re: My coaches restricting resources

This is obviously a terrible idea and your coaches should have the ability to figure out why pretty easily. I don't know what else to say. Feel free to show this post to them if you think it'll help. Yeah, exactly this. Part of being good at an ID event is making and learning to use a good binder. ...

Re: Help Adjusting to Div. B

Thanks all for the help! I'm going to make sure the tests are on the more difficult side then. It also didn't occur to me that Div. B kids still have many years of scioly ahead of them to learn and continue working on their events, so a hard test won't frustrate them as much.

Help Adjusting to Div. B

I'm looking for some advice about the differences between Division B and C. In my career as a competitor, I only competed in Div. B for one year and I didn't take it very seriously. As an event supervisor, I have only written for Division C. However, this year I will probably be writing more for Div...

Re: 2019 National Tournament: Cornell University

I do think Boca Raton was overrated, but Acton-Boxborough was less than 30 points from 5th. They were rated just fine, but happened to get unlucky. ...so by that logic, the teams that placed ahead of them just happened to get lucky? ABRHS was unlucky that the distribution of teams in 2019 resulted ...

Re: Unofficial Rankings C

Why do you have Enloe so low? Their states score wasn't spectacular this year and it wasn't exactly indicative of any results higher than what they usually get. I know that they got 5th at MIT but I do believe (as I've said before) that results were significantly impacted this year by the absence o...

Re: Texas 2019

Why not LASA or Clements? Seven Lakes was just my best guess. But mainly because LASA has now missed nats for 3 straight years, and Clements has historically taken the back seat to the other two programs. Finally, a counterexample: NJ and WWPS v. WWPN? Why not two teams? I don't think comparing wit...

Re: Texas 2019

I'm curious: will the removal of Texas' 2nd bid reduce the number of elite teams the state can sustain? Before now, TX was like OH, with 3ish elite teams (Solon, Centerville, Mason; 7L, LASA, Clements) and 1-2 fringe teams (Mentor, Chardon?; Tompkins, ... TAMS maybe?). But with only 1 bid, it will b...
