2. Green Level (83)
3. Walnut (CA) (95)
4. Northview (GA) (111)

Builds were run as trials for teams that wished to get some practice in, so scores were lower than normal. Overall, we had a great inaugural tournament!

Re: Nationals Event Discussion

I'd love to hear from more students about Nationals events this year. As an ES, it helps us to hear from competitors about things they like or don't like in a test.

Re: Machines B/C

For those wanting an example graph, here's a link to one: https://www.sciencenc.com/wp-content/up ... -Graph.pdf

Note the disclaimers -- if your local ES has different interpretations of the rules, then I can't help you. :( The rules are unfortunately vague, especially 5.e.i.

Re: Machines B/C

Getting 41+ in practice Last time machines was a nats event, top score was about 98.1, so I'd expect about 44 as the top device score The scoring formula weights time more heavily this year iirc. I would not expect more than exceptional teams to be below 30 seconds in B and 40 seconds in C (with ef...

Re: North Carolina 2020

https://app.avogadro.ws/invitational/duke-university-c/ Duh. Thanks. Fairfax and RCHS seem to have fallen a bit. Lake Braddock (VA) did well. What I'm most curious about is NCSSM's stacking. Their B team did pretty well. I certainly don't think they were unstacked, but it's not a typical stacked sc...

Re: North Carolina 2020

duke results 1. Enloe (95) 2. NCSSM (102) 3. Syosset (133) 4. Langley (173) 5. Lake Braddock (197) Quite close results. Judging by Syosset's position, I'd attribute it more to a decline by Enloe. Agreed. Anyone have the link to the full results? I can't seem to find it on Duke's (poorly designed) t...

Re: Machines B/C

I've started to make the graphs but the rules on data are kind of confusing. "i. 2 points for including data spanning the possible mass ranges" How would you collect data from the specific masses? Check the Machines section of the NCSO website for an example of what will be considered an ...

Re: Your Daily Random Comment

/Mini Rant/ I know a lot of people like Excel, but as someone who uses it a lot at an advanced/niche level for work, I find it extremely frustrating. I would never pay money for such a piece of trash, and I think it only became popular because of its novelty and Microsoft's platform. /Mini Rant Over/
