Re: Wright Stuff C

I haven't been active at all on the forums this year so sorry if something similar has already been asked--I've been using the LCP kit the whole year and am kind of stuck on how to improve for nationals. I'm currently stuck at around 1:20-1:30. I tried a couple different rubber sizes and lengths (.0...

Re: Wright Stuff C

Hey, so I'm new to Wright Stuff and am slowly making my way through Chuck Markos' guide. Is this correct? Since the propeller spins counterclockwise (looking at the front of the plane), the plane basically wants to spin clockwise. That raises the right wing higher than the left (left-banked?) which ...

Re: Mission Possible C

Would something like the having magnet task drop an object that completes an electrical connection that powers the end task be legal? I'm a little confused since technically electricity is not allowed to be used for magnet, but it is for end, so would the dropped object completing the connection te...

Re: Scioly Summer Study Session 2018

Hey, just wondering if this was a typo or not—the first post says to send your resource to summer@scioly.org but send questions to summerscioly@scioly.org, are these different on purpose? Thanks!

Re: Scioly Summer Study Session 2018

Is writing a WIDI test an option? Like uploading pictures of the build and a rubric?

Re: Mission Possible C

Hey Scott, how did you calibrate your timer? :o You used Alka-Seltzer in conjunction with the balloon task, right? About how long was the maximum time you could get with the timer?

Re: Mousetrap Vehicle C

Hey, if anyone placed around 40th to 50th place, could you either post or PM me an approximation of your score? My team placed surprisingly low, and we're not sure if there was a scoring error (first run failed because they hit the wrong mousetrap oops) or if nats is just crazy lol. Nats is crazy, ...

Re: Events 2018-2019

Anyone know if there's still a chance that Electric Wright Stuff will come into the flying build rotation? I was really hoping for either EWS or ELG :'( I heard it might eventually. I wasn't at the meetings, but I overheard some definite excitement over the up and coming trials (which are noted on ...

Re: Astronomy C

Good job everyone this year:). Helped at an invite, regs, nats...somehow not at states, we'll see about next year. Which might I add...IS GALAXIES!!! It's still being finalized, but it may involve starburst galaxies, and stellar evolution will of course still be important. Thanks for your hard work...

Re: Helicopters C

It was our own design. But we are on the road for a week. Yellowstone, then college visits. I'll see what I can do after that Coach Chuck Congrats to you and your team! Was it a triple rotor Chinook by any chance? I was hoping to see one of those at the tournament, but it seems like everyone in my ...

Re: Astronomy C

What is the Astro test at nationals usually like? Do they go crazy with scientific papers and obscure info or anything like that, or is it usually pretty reasonable?

Re: Mission Possible C

Is anyone using ATTiny 85s here and could you help us? We're using code where our IR LED is supposed to turn on when the ATTiny senses a limit switch being pressed. For some reason, even though there's nothing connected to our input pin, the IR LED is still turning on. We have no idea why... We also...
