Re: Possible 2022 Events
Upon reflection, I'm particularly surprised that Machines got replaced by Trajectory a year early, since Trajectory is a full build that wouldn't be run in a virtual competition like nationals currently is.

Re: Possible 2022 Events
Does anyone know if Forestry will come back anytime soon? It's an ID event last run in 2012 + 2013, and I'm not sure why Ornithology is receiving a 3rd year in the rotation when other events (like Machines) on a 2 year cycle were rotated out for 2022. Re: Nationals Event Discussion
Astronomy (1st): Overall, I would say the test was pretty good. Also, it happened to be super useful that I took the 2020 Nationals test 4 days before the competition. Perhaps some different images for the galaxy spectra could've been used. Rating: 8.5/10 Fossils (8th): Definitely both the best tes...

Re: 2022 Nationals
It has been discussed above about the Risk/Reward for the various teams and their school districts, but what about the hosting University? With many of them being unsure what the Fall Semester will exactly look like they may not want to commit to something in May like an event like this. Think of t...

Re: Illinois 2021
Apparently the summarized results of the tournament are already posted on the "State Tournament Results" forum. Wonder how they were able to access the scores before they're released on April 25th, but hey w/e. The results I got were from screenshots of Avogadro posted on the scioly.org d...

Re: Possible 2022 Events
I'm kinda surprised they decided to change all 3 physics events at once. Wouldn't it be difficult for a 6th grader/freshman to pick up a physics event in 2022-23 if everyone else already has 1 year of experience?
