This tower placed first at the invitational with a score of 1493. h...

Yes, X's are glued to the outside of the legs and are slightly bowed and we did glue in the middle of the X.

Re: Towers B/C

Balsa Man, I believe BS test results were in the range of 25-28 grams and our tower was actually 1/11 bracing interval.

Re: Towers B/C

When choosing sticks for competition towers, I would do a simple "push down" test on a scale and record that number as well as the weight of the stick. I then selected four sticks that had high scale test values while also being in the desired weight range

Re: Towers B/C

Yes, legs were 1/8 x 1/8 and each weighed around 1.2 grams. X's and ladders were 1/16 x 1/32 and should have weighed around 0.2 g, some may have weighed a bit less. We found that in order to have a successful tower, all four legs should be very close in weight, even within 0.06 or 0.05 g for our mos...

Re: Towers B/C

Here is a video of our tower tested at the Indiana State Competition several weeks ago: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=o7XudIK9qGA As you can see, our design was X's only except for a few ladders at the very top and bottom. These may not have been necessary, but we simply ran out of time to build a...

Re: Indiana 2017

Looking through previous state results when I realized there were no results from 2009, 2007, or 2006. Does anyone happen to have these? (or anything before 2004?) Much appreciated
