Any advice distinguishing diatomite from chalk? I don't have a Rocks & Min box to practice with, so I'm afraid I'm a bit rusty in physical identification.

TPBM has never done a lab event.
Nah. I've done Chem Lab and Crime Busters. Granted, I didn't like them very much, so now I stick to Earth Science events.
TPBM is currently procrastinating on Physics homework.

Anyone else notice that actinolite and tremolite are the same mineral with differing percentages of Magnesium and Iron? What could be used to differentiate?
