I'm not going to get into this, but as I recall, you literally told me last night over Hangouts that I was "not wrong" by claiming that Gelinas is being slightly overrated. Maybe I am a little (or more than a little) biased, but I think my reasoning is solid. You guys still certainly have potential...

Personally I think that this year NY B wasn't actually as competitive as last year. Yes, there were more schools trying to get 2nd, but the scores were way farther apart (besides the score between 3rd and 4th) and it felt like not every top 5 school actually placed consistently. Reports that Roller was inputted wrong on scoring sheet (inputted as did not finish), got over 400 points so would have placed easily. Waiting for further info, but if it's true that means Gelinas probably broke the old state record.

Isn't 1/16 balsa super weak?
As long as you don't taper it the tensile force alone I found to be sufficient

When you guys connect the tension onto the dowel by the hook, what other re enforcement do you put? Just the glue? Or do you guys drill into the dowel and glue in toothpicks to make the joint stronger because a LOT of pressure is being put in that one area? Why the toothpicks, they aren't that stro...

I found that using two 1/4 by 1/8 balsa for compression and 1/16 by 1/16 balsa for tension will yield very good results.
