Re: Machines B/C
You wish to raise one side of a 5,000 kg car to change a flat tire. You have a strong 2x4 to use as a lever, and a 15 cm high block for a fulcrum. The fulcrum is 304,000 µm from the load, and the lever is 1.52 × 10^-6 Mm long. How much force is needed to lift the car? Give your answer in kg. Assume...

Re: Machines B/C
Curiously, rule 4.e forbids tests from asking participants to calculate dynamics. Preventing the calculation of force on objects seems to excise much of the physics behind such a physics event. Perhaps, though, I have misunderstood what this line is saying? My present understanding is that the rule...

Re: Sounds of Music C
So I noticed the rules mentioned how event supervisors “may” move the testing equipment closer for the pitch part. (Part II.f.iii) Thing is, I’m afraid an event supervisor will decide this means they can choose to not move it closer, and on our instrument (copper pipe xylophone), if we want to play...

Re: Thermodynamics B/C
Maxwell distribution (this is somewhat related, but the questions it asked were NOT related to , a tiny bit of thermo.,some mechanical physics. It didn't have any history or really even focus on one topic, just a whole bundle of random stuff. The test was really weird, as evidenced by the fact that...

Re: Is this decent?
i want to ask a similar question... I used 100 mL of water, the source temp was about 63 deg C (only 1 thermometer and did not measure too accurately). The 1st reading in the device was 57.7, which then dropped down to 50.0 after 30 minutes. The air temperature is about 19 deg C (cold house), which...
