Re: Sounds of Music C

If the frequency of the note C3 is 125 Hz, what is the frequency of A♭4?
I got 397 Hz, using frequency of a note = known frequency * (1.059463...)^number of halfsteps, which was 8 from C4 (250 Hz)
Yep. Thats right!. Now your turn.

Re: Science Olympiad Events 2019-2020

have the draft rules been released yet? Someone correct me if I'm wrong but I think they come out after the summer institute thing. You only get draft rules if your coach attends either SOSI or a summer workshop type thingy which distributes draft rules to the attendees. And, they aren’t open to th...

Re: Best Teams That Didn't Make Nats

FM is probably good enough for a honorable mention, and probably could've made Nationals if not for a couple of bombs.
What school is FM?

Re: Game On B

SoCal didn't hold Game On, so we are a bit confused on some parts. Is the game type given by the proctors, or do you choose at competition?
it is chosen by the proctor

Re: Experimental Design B/C

Does anyone actually know the rules regarding counts? For example, if I was measuring the period of a spring, and I timed five iterations of the spring (a unit that would be considered “count”) as maybe 1.56 seconds, what would I report as the average time for a period? 0.3? 0.31?0.312? I would arg...

Re: Bare Minimum

What is the simplest thing we can submit and still be score-able, even if it gets 0 points? (AKA not get disqualified or non-scorable) Does the machine even have to "work"? Can I just subm...
