Re: Partner Problems + Motivation

Have you tried using Trello with your partners? That might be a good way to see how they are progressing, and they might be motivated too if they see updates from you on there. I find it works best with ID binder events though, where the checklist function is utilized the most in my case. But I thin...

Do you need a whole page per genus?? You don't need to if you don't want to! I can see it being more beneficial to not devote an entire page to each invertebrate genus for example. I think a whole page for the vertebrates is necessary though as there's a lot of information you'll want to have on ha...

Re: Experimental Design B/C

Hi, does anyone know... 1) the difference between a constant and controlled variable? 2) how do you calculate standard deviation? I can't help you with 2 since I don't do the math sections, but I can help with 1! A controlled variable is something in the experiment that you are not changing, but yo...

Re: Fossils B/C

What do you guys recommend for the template for each fossil page? Thnx Here is a very condensed version of what I use. You don't have to use this exact template though. Whatever works best for you! The main thing to remember is to just make it simple and easy for you to find information quickly. Co...

Re: Ornithology B/C copying and pasting. I do copy and paste (from Wikipedia and allaboutbirds). I think the issue here is how long I spend on formatting the information. Whoops. Isn't it hard to format a huge block of text you copy from Wikipedia/find stuff you may need in that large block of text? The way I de...

Re: Nationals Event Discussion

A little bit late, but here's my reviews of the events! (And the tournament itself.) It was really cool to meet some of you, even if it was only for a minute or two. Experimental Design: (32nd) This is the worst I've placed on this event at Nationals, but I don't mind. I think it was a great prompt,...

Re: Scioly Achievement List

Surprised I haven't posted in here yet! Here are mine........ BEAT THE CURVE ACHIEVEMENT: Definitely what happened during Wright Stuff at state. Our plane barely got into the air and then crashed anyway. We still got 2nd because so many teams were a no-show for WS. :o MULTIPLE GUESS ACHIEVEMENT: Whe...

Re: Swap Meet

Would people like more actual potatoes? We brought a bag of them last year and a lot of people loved them. I'd like to make some felt french fry magnets too of some kind, and fake potatoes. Might bring a bunch of rocks too since Idaho is a big geology state.
