Re: Scores
We just placed first at MI states! I'm not sure about the exact score, but according to my timer, we had: 105 second run time, 90 second chemical timer, 67 second target time. We had all 14 tasks, the battery bonus, and a 31x31x31cm device. I believe this results in a score of ~1500. I'm still slig...

Re: Scores
I'm confused on what the "Unique Actions" part in the scoring section of the rules means. Is it not the same as the 50 points for each scorable action?

I'm hoping we don't have a center line can, it makes testing miserable.

Re: Chemical Clocks
Its my understanding that the rule was added so that you couldn't use a sensor's processing unit to make a "wait" timer, where a program just waits 2:30 and then starts the next thing, only appearing like the chemical reaction was sensed. To avoid this they banned all sensors in conjunctio...

Re: Scores
Wait, you saw pembroks run? What did they get? They cant have been that fast, there car was all aluminum They did it a little slower than ladue, maybe 7 seconds or or so, but were pretty much spot on the target. They had some serious bearings to cut down on friction. So your saying there car got a ...

Re: Non-Chemical Clocks
Our mission is primarily electrical, with most of our tasks serving as bridges between electrical systems. I am wondering how a mechanical timer would play with the rule that the timer cannot end with an electrical sensor. Let's take the idea of a counterweighted lever as an example. If I were to t...
