Re: Mission Possible C
Is A timing step required? In one section of the rules it says you need t but in another it says it’s just for bonus points. What is the minimum time it needs to run, if required? I remember someone said they only included the start and final action and still competed with that.

Re: Mission Possible C
Hey guys Question: I’m using my pulley to complete a circuit by having one end of it lift up a metal mass to an uncomplete circuit and having the mass touch the wires. My question is, as long as I use a simple D-Cell or 9V battery, is this allowed? I’d be using solid core, 18 gauge copper wiring, an...

Re: Electromagnet Task
Would using a solenoid no longer count the electromagnet as “student-made”?

Re: Mission Possible C
Would a push button switch be counted as a spring timer? I’m not using the switch to power a circuit- just to complete one.

Re: Hovercraft B/C
I have no problem at all lifting a 2+kg craft with no skirt. The skirt is only required for uneven surfaces, and I doubt any floors could be as disastrous as plywood tables. Skirts certainly improve performance, but it is most likely a weak lift fan. I cannot stress it enough, get a fan that could ...

Re: Chemical Clocks
I’m sorry, but please clarify this for me because I thought I saw this in the rules but now I can’t find it- are we required to have some type of timer? Or isn’t it just for bonus points? Will we be penalized in any way for not having a timer?

Re: Balloon Task
Would burning a match in a lab beaker with the ballon covering the opening result in the balloon inflating? I ask because if I use extra long matches, I can use the idea as my chemical timer.

Re: Electromagnet Task
are we allowed to use a solenoid in our electromagnet? Or is that not technically a student made electromagnet anymore?

Re: Hovercraft B/C
he probably meant 1.2V 250 mah Yes I did, my bad. Thank you for catching that. 4 1.2 V batteries in series would be 4.8 V total. I think you'd need more to power most fans rated at 12 V. In my experience, you usually need 6-7 V at minimum, and around 8-9ish V to have the fans be effective. If you g...
