Tiger, what weight sticks are you using for the main compression pieces on your chimney design? For Towers we were going down to around 1g per stick, so with 4 in a chimney boomilever design I was thinking it would be about the same.

They were wanting to try for the compression beams on the bottom to help prevent the bowing-breaking that they keep experiencing right at 13kgs. I was thinking 2 sheets of 1/16 balsa laminated together might help.

My students want to try laminating sheets of balsa to cut their own sticks. What glue would you suggest for this? CA seems like it would absorb too quickly into the balsa before properly layering the second piece.

Thanks! We store in mailing tubes in a dry location. Any other special ways to store it that you would suggest?

Any idea the lifespan of precut balsa and bass sticks from merchants like Specialized and National? I have some (expensive) sticks from towers last year that we still haven’t used, so I am trying to decide whether to store them for another year or toss them.
