Re: Thermodynamics B/C Build

Well to a degree. You have heat loss and then that heat loss increases to a point when water is transferred multiple times. So it can depend on the situation. I still don't believe in equations and I say it's better to just go based on trials. It might work, but it probably won't... Well my equatio...

Re: Thermodynamics B/C Build

That is strange. I’ve been basing my predictions off after the water is poured, though. Maybe the cylinder was warm? Idk. Yeah, my first temperature measurement was two minutes after pouring the water. And my partner said the same about the cylinder being warm too. But it just bothers me. You peopl...

Re: Thermodynamics B/C Build

On Saturday during the regionals, the supervisors poured 71C hot water into a graduated cylinder before pouring it into our beaker. We didn't account for this at all when we did our trials. I was surprised that our prediction was still good. I expected the initial temperature to drop dramatically b...

Re: Sounds of Music C

The rule manual mentions "Basic terminology regarding sound, sound production, and related science terms". What does this mean, specifically? Anyone have resources for this section?

Re: Science Quiz Bowl B/C [NY TRIAL]

First! Lol. Given that this event is basically those Jeopardy games you would play in science class, does anyone have a suggestion on how to study (other than having a brain for memorizing random things)? For instance, water is not wet. Science Quiz Bowl seems to me a lot like the Science Bowl comp...

Re: Ecology B/C

how to "calculate" trophic level of a certain organism?? Basically, just multiply the trophic level of everything it consumes by what percent of its diet it makes up, and then add all of it together. Ex: Organism A eats Organism B and Organism C, which make up 60% and 40% of its diet, res...
