Re: Codebusters B/C
I understand this event has been online for the past few years. Do we have a sense if it will stay that way or go back to a paper test? Very late response to this but all in-person tournaments have done Codebusters on paper as far as I know. Online Codebusters has only been for, well, online tourna...

Re: Prediction Contest 2023
While I do like more teams medalling, in many tournaments, a wide spread of medals typically indicates worse quality tests. Higher randomness created by tests that are not as well-written. It's quite ridiculous to have the top four teams in Div B have an average of 21st place in Fast Facts, which ev...

Re: 2023 National Tournament: Wichita State University
Thanks to Wichita State for such a great experience! I was very impressed by the campus and the STEM events leading up to tournament day (especially the Textron tour). Huge congrats to our friends at Kennedy for winning Div B and Stevenson for breaking the CA/OH streak. Looking forward to MSU 2024!

Re: Starting a Scioly Team as a Student (kind of)
Sometime at the end of a Codebusters test we just know that we don’t have enough time to solve anything else so we just draw things relating to the quotes. Like once there was a hint saying that it was from the Lion King so we just drew Scar and Mufasa. Normally I just bring like 72 sharpened penci...

Re: Starting a Scioly Team as a Student (kind of)
I can't say I have had the same experience. Of course, I am competitive and want to win my event, probably more competitive than most. But other than the fairly common quiet kid in Scioly, almost everyone is extremely helpful and outgoing, part of the reason I love it so much. Don't get me wrong, y...

Re: Codebusters returning?
Hello friends, first post here. I am wondering whether Codebusters will be returning for 2024 and 2025. The event has repeated for 5 times in a row which is quite an amount for a repeating event. Will next year mark its death? https://scioly.org/wiki/index.php/Past_Event_Rotations Hello, now that t...
