Re: Indiana 2020

Schedule for the 2020 Northridge Invitational is now posted and can be found at www.northridgesoinvitational.com We were able to follow the Indiana State Science Olympiad Schedule. As far as I can tell there are a few conflicts that don't match the state schedule... For example, on that schedule co...

Re: Indiana 2020

Bloomington North pulled off a big win (24 points!) 2 things. 1, it was South not North. 2, 24 points really is not that much in the grand scheme of things, especially when you consider Carmel also took 3rd. Oops buddy, honest mistake... Either way, BHS North didn't stack and from the who I talked ...

Re: Illinois 2020

IMO, some interesting results from this invite. Anyone know why New Trier didn't make top 5? Seems weird that they didn't do better in Anatomy & Physiology, Ornithology, and their build events. I'm also surprised that Lyons Township Varsity didn't get at least in top 15 overall, given how well they...

Re: Astronomy C

So for calculating recessional velocity from redshift I've found 2 different equations: The far simpler z=v/c As well as the more complicated (v/c)= ((z+1)^2-1)/((z+1^2+1) Sorry that looks bad. Which one is correct then? Or are they for different situations that I'm oblivious to? Yup, they're used ...

Also want to add that all state champions of the states listed except Virginia, Illinois, Maryland, and North Carolina are attending (Includes 7L, Acton, Boca, Auburn, Barrington, Bothell, Columbia, Clark, Harriton, Merrimack, Solon, Olathe North, Troy, South). Olathe North hasn't won Kansas since ...

2. Yes, I think you're correct in saying that smaller wheels will be beneficial. However, imo it's not for the "accuracy" - smaller wheels usually have less mass and therefore less rotational inertia. The heavier wheels are, the more force is required in order to get them spinning. However, if you ...

Re: Ping Pong Parachute B/C

Carbonated water seems to be the most cheap, regular water's fine too.
Although you probably won't ever get called out for this, the rules specify a carbonated beverage bottle, so a bottle for regular water is technically not allowed.
