The Great American Total Solar Eclipse of April 8, 2024: A Review and Showcase
Given that the Great(er) American Eclipse of 2024 (Great er than 2017 if we are talking about the max totality duration and the number of large populated cities the path of totality intercepted), I'd like to talk about my full experience. I initially thought about the idea of seeing it soon after th...

Re: Your Daily Random Comment
Don't ask why, just feels really nice. Tbh, I also don't mind it entirely, but there are some things, specifically text, are a bit hard to make out which I don't really like. But I guess that's the case with a quick and dirty CSS one-liner. It's a quick April Fool's trick anyway. Thou the same can ...

Re: Determining the Orientation of the Robot
Assuming you are using some microcontroller ... A magnetometer can work, but due note since those sensors will typically report absolute degrees. Some ICs have the ability to reset to cancel out any residual strong magnetic fields, but you may have to see how well that works in practice. A gyroscope...

Re: Battery Power
What is the maximum voltage allowed for individual battries? can an individual battery have more than 1.5v? As per rule 3b, the electrical energy must come from at most 6 AA to AAA 1.2 to 1.5 volt commercially available batteries. So, to answer your question, 1.5v is the maximum volts per battery; ...

Whoa, that makes sense now. Thanks for the explanation! I wonder if one of those human image tests/"type the word/letter you see" would filter more bots out? Not sure how any of this works, though It probably will help with it, but it won't remove the problem completely. There are service...

In the case for scioly.org, we noticed an abnormally continuous load of requests that w...

Whoa! Haven't seen Nydauron and Unome in a while. I mean you guys don't know me but I used to lurk in forums around 2021 and read archives, haha. Hi! Glad to meet you. Yeah, I tend to do a fair bit of lurking. ;) Discord is beneficial short-term for fast communication, but when people use it for in...

Re: Your Daily Random Comment
I realized what the discord and scioly.org forums are good for now. Discord's good for fooling around and talking about results in the moment. On scioly.org you can actually save information and it's better for asking about events. Each serves their purpose but it's frustrating that the forums look...
