Re: Science Olympiad at MIT Invitational 2020

Locations for some events are now posted at https://scioly.mit.edu/event-info Ping Pong Parachute is going to be amazing in that gym (albeit tough to prepare for!!). Nice, they got gyms. As I recall they haven't had these locations in the past, right? I cannot remember MIT ever using either of thos...

Re: Wright Stuff C

3 grams of 0.06+ rubber should be able to take 5000 and more turns depending on how close to breaking you're willing to go. Hopefully someone will chime in with a single good source for the best practices to use as a reference. We learned one bit at a time and we still can't get to 5000 for 0.0625"...

Re: Wright Stuff C

Also, how many winds can people fit onto rubber these days? I can only get about 2000 winds if I don't want it to snap frequently
Need a little more info than that;

-Thickness? (density would be better)
-Length?
3g of .065" thick rubber
3g sounds like quite a bit for only 2000 winds

Carnegie Mellon Northville (MI champion, 10th '19 nationals) Thomas Jefferson (VA champion, 12th '19 nationals) Mentor (4th '19 OH) Shady S...

Re: Wright Stuff C

theres a reason why people don't post times Not any good reason, IMO. Sharing every shred of data will not hurt the best teams one bit. They will continue to have a pipeline of information that is unbeatable. Share the wealth, everyone will improve, and nothing will change at the top. Or don't shar...
