Re: Scheduling Conflicts

Thanks for all the advice, everyone! Sadly, it's not really reasonable to do both since I don't have a car and states is three hours away :-/ I would need someone to transport me very early in the morning on Saturday (after doing a show on Friday) and then leave at around 1:30-2:00 to get back befor...

Scheduling Conflicts

Just got the biggest blow dealt to me - our spring play is taking place the same weekend as states. I'm going to have to choose one over the other, and I don't think I'm going to like the outcome either way. I've been looking forward to both events for months now, but I don't know if it's worth it t...

Re: Designer Genes C

Do any of you guys have suggestions on how to study Designer Genes? I read the handouts and powerpoints but I quickly forget what the word means. I am not retaining the information. Personally, I really like outlining and taking notes from textbooks. Just reading over what you need to know isn't go...

Re: Designer Genes C

What are your guys' advice for a study event (study strategies, planning, team member collaboration, etc.)? Take practice tests. See what you and your partners strengths are - if you can separate the pages on the test, have both partners working on different parts. It's a lot like studying for a te...

Re: Teams Per School

Most people's experience is that some people drop out once they understand how much work is involved. We usually lose quite a few people before December. Just because people are interested doesn't mean they'll follow through. That being said though, we use three B teams and two C teams. I don't kno...

Re: Team Shirts

Our team does short sleeved shirts, and I've never had a problem with that. It really depends on the weather in your area though, and what conditions are usually like around competitions. Alternatively: have people choose whether they want long or short sleeve shirts. You all still have the same des...

Re: Binder Events

I do prefer the challenge of note sheet events, since they are more limited in what they let you include and force you to put a lot more effort into your event instead of just like, copying some stuff off the internet and putting it in a binder the day of the event. I don't do DP, but didn't it have...

My quest to get Forensics as an event is finally over :D And it only took two years of attempts!
