Re: Can't Judge A Powder B
Sure. The rules state that the event supervisors can provide "test chemicals" for teams to use, which could reasonably include Benedict's solution.AnjayKannan wrote: ↑March 19th, 2024, 5:28 am Hi!
During competitions is it a possibility that they will provide Benedicts Solution? Thank you!

Re: Projectile clarification
I think you've been misled by google. Yeah, I realized that while having a separate conversation about this topic much later. This is why you don't trust the sludge that Google serves you at the top of the page, I suppose. It was surprisingly difficult to find good information about regulation ping...

Re: Can't Judge A Powder B
Dear CJAP Admin and experts, I have a critical question to clarify. What's the definition of "observation"? Say you get a powder. Without any reaction, is the observation of color, odor, shape, etc of one observation of the powder itself? Or each of the color, oder, shape is separate henc...

Re: Crime Busters B
We are a small school and this is the first year I have students competing in this event. Can anyone share a list of needed materials for the students to bring with them? The list of materials I found seems to have materials that I wouldn't think they would need for this event. Thanks. Everything o...

I realized what the discord and scioly.org forums are good for now. Discord's good for fooling around and talking about results in the moment. On scioly.org you can actually save information and it's better for asking about events. Each serves their purpose but it's frustrating that the forums look...

Re: Scrambler C
I am wondering for the east North Carolina regional tournament, how far is the the terminal barrier going to be from the start point? According to this year's Scrambler rules (5.f.) the Target Distance from the Start Point to the End Point on the Terminal Barrier will be anywhere between 8.00 m and...

I don't think anyone is going to notice the difference between a 3.7mm ball and a 3.4mm ball at a competition.

Re: MIT Science Olympiad Invitational 2024
Hi there! I helped write Forensics for MIT this year. I wasn't super involved with grading (I mostly focused on actually proctoring the event) so I don't have as much to say about the scores as I normally would. I still put together a score distribution for the event which can be seen below: image.p...
