Re: Anatomy and Physiology B/C

Is the question difficulty of MIT invitationals and a normal regionals the same? or is MIT invitationals harder? For at least most events, the tests at MIT would be significantly harder than most any tournament in the country, with exceptions, of course. Your average regional will most likely not h...

Re: Ornithology B/C

For the Clapper Rail on the sheet do they mean Mangrove rail because the scientific name they have is Rallus longirostris which is the mangrove rail so do I do stuff for mangrove rail or clapper rail? Always use the list as the official guide for what and what not to do. Recently, the mangrove rail...

Re: Ornithology B/C

Thanks for all of the feedback on my question! As a follow-up, for those who have taken tests, will I be seeing much identification of juveniles or females of species? Just wanting to know if I have to memorize any major differences within a species. Depends on level of tournament. At a smaller inv...

Re: Ornithology B/C

In general, how is everyone handling identification? Are you guys just studying it and memorizing, or do you have some sort of flow chart in your binders? This is the one major hurdle of this event that I am hung up on. I would suggest memorization, as in a test you definitely do not want to let id...

Re: "Oldies But Goodies" Events

What is the problem with releasing the results, anyways? All of the tests should have been graded and put together to find the winner in the first place, right? Am I missing something? What you are missing is the same thing we are missing: those actual results. These events didn't go through the ty...

Oh, also: what was the thought process on giving ONE shirt to the pair of competitors that won...? (https://photos.app.goo.gl/EqnySyZSs5X8o3cq9) It's news to me that shirts were given out. Like I said, the national scoring team wasn't involved in those events at all, so we didn't even know there we...

Re: Nationals Event Discussion

Here's my take on the events at nationals this year Sci Quiz Bowl (10th): The format was very different from the invite, and instead of being split in parts based on subject the questions were randomly assorted into 150 questions. Not necessarily a bad thing, tho there were some semi random question...
