Re: Protein Modeling C

Since we don't have to put functionally relevant features for regionals, what should we put on the notecard? On the rules, it specifically says that the functionally relevant features will be explained in the notecard. Therefore, I believe the notecard will not be required in the regional level, an...

Re: Protein Modeling C

I got a confirmation back from the soinc people and they did clarify, one paper per person on the team
Each participant/person may bring one paper. With a team of 3 participants

Re: Protein Modeling C

meaning that our toober will have to be 19 feet long(228cm).. That seems a lot larger than previous years 228cm converts to 7.48031 feet, I think you accidently calculated inches instead of cm. Just don't want you to think the model is 19 feet long, that would be a lot. Shoot, you're right. My mist...

CBM wesbite states: The 2019-20 Pre-Build Model should represent amino acids 31 - 145 of chain A of the cytidine deaminase protein based on the PDB file 5keg.pdb. This section will require a toober that is 228cm long at the scale of 1 amino acid = 2cm. NOTE: This is a different structure/sequence t...

Re: Protein Modeling C

Is it just me or did this confusion come up last year as well? One paper per team or person??
Each participant may bring one 8.5'' x 11'' sheet of paper
and in the next line it specifies
Each team will impound...
This year it seems like one paper per person?

Last year I had an issue with my instrument not registering on the app very well in competition and had heard that other types of instruments did better? We had a percusion instrument of brass tubing. Any suggestions in what type of instruments would work best?

Unlikely. They haven't deviated from the new rotation since it was implemented in 2016.
True, thanks.
