Re: Wright Stuff C

As a manufacturer I couldn't care less, but as a mentor of umpteen young modelers it makes my blood boil, especially considering who writes these rules. He should know better, and he keeps doing this crap anyway. Josh, since you seem to have a specific person in mind, would you care to share exactl...

Re: Wright Stuff C

The rules are poorly formed resulting in truly ugly airplanes. Doubling the stab span would have greatly eased the trimming difficulty and made for prettier looking airplanes. Basically, the rules are crap because they wanted to screw us all over with difficult to fly airplanes. As a manufacturer I...

Re: Elastic Launched Gliders B

Predictions for winning times at nats? Considering the 40' ceiling id say around 130-135 seconds total would win. I’m going to guess the winning time total will be 127.5 seconds or a score of 154 counting all Bonuses. Good luck to everyone Ps. I’m also going out on a limb and going to guess Tower H...

Re: Elastic Launched Gliders B

Jdh3 2) When you launch it horizontally with low power and no bank, it climbs linearly for 2 feet and then tries to transition right into a glider, but the right wing tips downwards, bringing the whole plane down. This is a wing warp problem. Grab the right wing about 1" out from the fuselage and t...

Re: Elastic Launched Gliders B

Hey guys, When I launched my glider (Guru 19, 28cm wingspan, 35cm fuselage) it launches up no problem, but on the descent, the right wing points to the ground the the glider sprials to the ground. I think it is because the wings were unbalanced, but when I added a bit of clay on one wing, it didn't...

Re: Please help

Hi people of the forums! I have had a continuing problem with each glider I build; they all end up doing the same flipping motion after I attempt to launch them. I am not using a kit, but I used the plans for the plane from http://www.amaflightschool.org/diy/how-build-indoor-catapult-launch-glider-...

Re: Scores Discussion

Jdh3,

Nice flight.

Brian T
Thanks, the more recent practice had them hitting 1.0 seconds / ft. They are still improving and have 3 weeks until regionals.
