Re: Rocks & Minerals B/C
In Rocks and Minerals, at least in NC, you're going to be looking at rock/mineral specimens (hopefully real examples, if not then images), and identifying them, as well as providing information about the specimens. It's very heavily an identification-based event. You'll also need to know information...

Re: Fossils B/C
Alright, weird question time! So, it's my first year in division C, and we did really good at regionals and states last year, but I'm wondering what the differences between division C fossils and division B fossils would be? Anything along the lines of what they ask about would be great, for example...

Re: North Carolina 2019
I'm really happy that my team, West Cary Middle, placed 9th in States after coming to States for the first time. Everyone worked really hard in our team and we got 3 gold medals, which is much better than I expected! I also placed first in Division B Disease Detectives, which is a dream come true! ...

Re: North Carolina 2019
States was overall amazing. I am from WAAS and the awards ceremony was very tense, at least for us - it felt like Robinson was going to take second as they were placing consistently higher in the events they were placing in, so getting second was a big surprise. Overall so excited to go to national...

Re: Fossils B/C
Where do you guys usually find info on the plant genera on the list? I'm having difficulty finding more specific information on extant ones, such as when they first appeared or things like that. I found mine but just searching a lot and wikipedia, although I can't guarantee that gives you everythin...

Re: North Carolina 2019
Anyone here heading to the state competition? Doesn't seem like the NC forums are as active as other states'. Our team just made the cut for states, and our sister school (my old team from last year, they made a new school) got 3rd so they are going as well (best they've done and I'm so proud becau...
