Re: 2020 LISO Invitational (Long Island, NY) Div B & C

A difference in 5 psi between my two runs was a rocket which went up 1/3 of the way to hitting the ceiling hard (launcher was already leaky). The rocket, however, did not puncture the hose, I have no clue how you came to that conclusion... The piece that came off the rocket came right down on the h...

Re: Boomilever B/C

Where do y'all buy basswood for tension members? Specialized Balsa and Natuonal Balsa both sell bass as well They have good 24 inch 1/8 by 1/16 basswood on amazon You can also go to a hobby store and handpick wood, you'll just look a bit weird with a scale and flashlight analyzing the wood in the b...

Re: 2020 LISO Invitational (Long Island, NY) Div B & C

I'm late to this but: Circuit (Not sure what place, can't find it on the test): The first half of the test was challenging, to say the least, being a bunch of field questions. The second half was good up until history, which is my least favorite part of any test. The lab was well executed well but ...

Re: Scores

At our latest competition (LISO) I got a time of 3.31 seconds and was 2.9 cm off-target for a score of 9.11. If you don't mind sharing scores, how would a score like that stack up nationally right now? 4.0cm, 2nd place. Congrats on beating me :o A score of around 10 would medal at nats. I thought t...

Re: Scores

The other day, I had the best run I've ever had. Time of about 3.5 seconds, distance of about 10.0cm. I was wondeirng how competetive this score would be (about 23.5) at a regional/invitational level. Obviously this can and will be improved with the 2 months of testing time I have until my regional...

We did have to change launchers because whoever went before us hit the roof hard and had pieces of their rocket puncture the hose.

Hello, is one ramp allowed for all the teams of one school?
As we just found out at LISO, each team must have their own ramp. They allowed us to compete all of our cars with one ramp, but I doubt a supervisor will let it slide again.
