Re: Ping Pong Parachute B/C

Would 3D printing a "shell" to contain the ping pong ball be legal if the strings from the parachute are still attached directly to the ball with tape?

Re: Rule 5c

I do it with a sharpie. Do NOT press too hard. It'll take a while to do it correctly but do it slowly. I used to do it with spraypaint, with sectioning off the rib bay and spraying from 2 or 3 feet, but that, unfortunately, doesn't seem to work anymore with the rules. Light pressure, go slow. I dar...

Re: Gravity Vehicle C

As for ramp surface materials, I think a stiff-ish vinyl material could be good depending on how you implement it and attach it to the base of the ramp. I know previously my school used a wooden base and acrylic for the surface material which seemed to work well. How did you manage to bend the acry...

Re: PICTURES, SCORES, VIDEOS!!

By tube, do you mean a tower chimney type design?
Nope its a literal tube. :)
How does that work? Rolling balsa sheet? Just getting an extra light balsa dowel and screwing a hole in the end?
Yeah, how do you connect tube with tensions?

Re: Increasing Flight Times

In my all honest opinion the way to get better is to think like a 2 year old. That is the method we use and we get pretty good flight times. Explain? jsegal, I do agree that WS is fundamentally a bunch of logic. Plane not rising? Work with CG/Incidence. Not turning? Try rudder before anything...

Re: Increasing Flight Times

xiangyu, try slowing down your descent rate and remember that your motor stick should be about 3 degrees above the horizontal when descending. My guess is that your high amount of winds left are because you are coming down too quickly. Decalage changes should be able to instantly improve this before...

Re: State Boomilever scores

For any of you at states (especially SoCal), were any of the winning designs similar to the one at 1:56 in the past boomilevers video?

I've heard reports of a box design without vertical bracing that did really well, wondering if it's similar to the one in the vid.
