Re: COVID-19

Has anyone else found that there are actually more people walking outside than ever before? When I go out for a walk I have to cross the street about 10 times every mile on average to maintain social distancing  . (Note that I live in a suburban setting)

Re: build injuries

I've gotten several cuts from my utility knife while cutting wood for a Boomilever. I've also glued my fingers together several times, including once around my nearly completed Boomilever, so I couldn't slide my fingers off. Not to mention everything that I've dropped on my toes... Yeah I've cut my...

Re: Ramp Creation

Our teams used a CNC to cut all the ramp parts so that was easy, (not exactly a trade secret) but a foam board with one of those smooth sides on it. I think ours was about 3mm thick, and it doesn't break or warp or cut you or anything like that , which sheet metal might, and you can cut holes in it...

Re: Ramp Creation

I don't know, I found the ramp to be the hardest thing to assemble at least. I used sheet metal for the surface and it was really hard to hold it down to drill it while keeping it aligned with the ramp. Also the sheet metal somehow formed a U shape at the part that touches the ground so that only th...

Re: COVID-19

Is it just me... or does anybody else think a lot of these measures aren't helping because they only address the future? Although not really what's happening, this half-tongue-in-cheek dialogue seems to summarize the mood of school districts and universities: Mon: "Coronavirus is looking pretty bad...

Re: COVID-19

So have you all heard about the AP exams? Based on what CollegeBoard wrote... I think they're shortening them all, cutting out topics, and allowing them to be taken at home? Am I reading this right? That seems to be the case. My AP physics teacher said that this is all subject to change though and ...

Re: 2020-2021 Detector

They were definitely straightforward (aside from ambiguity on whether or not readings had to be blind), but by luck based they mean how the accuracy of the reading oftentimes comes down to how much the calibration thermometer, and not the device, itself fluctuates. I think that's a fairly relateabl...

Re: Gravity Vehicle 20-21

I really hope they do add some sort of bonus, but the words "tweak" and "adjustment" don't imply that any major changes will be made.
