Re: Detector Building C

Also, I'm confused about this FAQ: https://www.soinc.org/we-have-built-detector-using-raspberry-pi-can-we-program-pi-ask-us-temperatures-and-then. Does this mean that we must calculate the coefficients by hand and edit the program config files to calibrate? It seems like this FAQ prohibits having th...

Re: Detector Building C

Are solderable breadboards allowed? The FAQs say that they prohibit PCBs, but through-hole breadboards such as https://www.allelectronics.com/item/sb-48/80-x-100mm-single-hole-breadboard-double-sided/1.html (for reference) are often referred to as PCBs as well. Re: Detector Building C

Does anyone know of any microcontrollers with a high-resolution onboard ADC? The best one I have found so far only has 13 bits of useful resolution (16 bits with 3 noisy bits). How do you find out how many bits are noisy? From the documentation or another way? I read on the Teensy forums that the o...

Re: Detector Building C

Are through-hole prototyping boards still allowed? Being forced to put everything on unreliable breadboards or solder everything together directly would both be bad.

Re: Detector Building C

In the Design Log, a printout of the program is required. Do dependencies also need to have their source code included?

Re: Poorly Run Event Stories

Mira Loma Regionals yesterday at Codebusters: The timed question violated the rule against a letter encrypting to itself, costing us the timing bonus as my team was confused about why it seemed like certain letters were encrypting to themselves when they shouldn't. Also, the Affine Cipher encryption...
