Michigan Region 9 tournament has been cancelled. Have also heard rumor that the State Tournament will be cancelled.
Cancellation notice for States is now on the MISO Facebook page: https://www.facebook.com/michscio/

Re: Michigan 2020

I know the middle school that I went to is not happy with having to practice for an extra event, but will be practicing for 24 events, not sure why Mich decided to do this...you bring up an interesting point about invys. I wonder what they will do... Aerial Scramble is unusual because the rules say...

Michigan 2020

I've heard that the Michigan Science Olympiad organization had adopted a couple of changes for the upcoming season. First, the team sizes for the State Tournament will be increased to 17. The number of teams competing will be reduced a bit, probably to keep the overall size of the tournament the sam...

Re: 9th Graders in Division B

Out of the top 10 Div B teams, 7-9 / 10 of them use 9th graders. Daniel Wright does not, and I'm not quite sure about Longfellow or Lakeshore. Lakeshore appears to be an interesting case. It's a school for grades 7 & 8. Another school in the district, White Pines, has grades 5 & 6, and Grand Haven ...

9th Graders in Division B

Just curious about something.

Of the teams that often place in the top 10-15 at Nationals, how many & which ones have 9th graders as team members?

Thank you very much for doing this!

The link to the What Are You Trying to Tell Me results does not seem to be working.

Re: Help Adjusting to Div. B

I'm looking for some advice about the differences between Division B and C. In my career as a competitor, I only competed in Div. B for one year and I didn't take it very seriously. As an event supervisor, I have only written for Division C. However, this year I will probably be writing more for Di...

Re: "Oldies But Goodies" Events

Tbf I think these events were meant to be fun and not taken seriously - at the same time, though, it is nationals. Even if you are supposed to have fun with these events, you would think NSO would at least provide full rankings to keep up the aura of seriousness (plus this is nationals - you should...
