Another possibility is water damage - water does strange things to sensors.
I had the exact issue with 3 of the same sensors. Pretty much scrapped my design for a NTC thermistor.

Wiring for Temperature Probe

Since the temperature probe has to be submerged in water, I'm not sure if there'll be electrical interference while the wire is submerged or if the difference would be significant enough. What would be the most optimal insulated wiring to be used in this case? I plan to use a TMP36 analog temperatur...
