Re: Laser Cutting a Boomilever

I was just being curious but I was wondering why most teams just don't laser cut their Boomilever, or if anyone ever tried and it just doesn't work for any reason, since you can keep the same consistency with a Boomilever (with the exception of exact grain of wood) Thanks for you thoughts! Although...

Hi, we are doing Elastic Launched Glider for the first time. It might be a very basic question, but can someone explain us how to measure incidence?

Re: Boomilever B/C

Hi, I have a question if anyone can help us with. The base of our boomilever always comes from both the tension bars attach point. Its kind of glue failure. It does not break, the whole base pops out. Our whole boomilever stays intact most of the time, this is mostly our failure point. We have trie...

Re: Boomilever B/C

I have also faced this problem before. The way I solved it was to just use a bigger piece of wood to laminate the base instead of using thin strips, I just cut 1/8x1/4 pieces and stuck them on the top and bottom of the base and it holds fine. We have tried that too. But the result remains same. Whi...

Re: Elastic Launched Glider B

For log book, what does 10 or more test flights mean? Does it mean that we need to make atleast 10 different types of gliders to test? Or, total number of test flights, no matter how many different types of gliders we make. Please explain us. We are new to this event. At least 10 flights logged. Th...

Re: Boomilever B/C

Hey everyone, I just tested my first ever boomi and it held the max 15 kg no problem and it weighted 20g :D . I made everything on it a little big, so I was wondering what sized wood I should use on my next boomi to make it lighter. I’m using a tower chimney design with 3/16” square balsa sticks fo...

Re: Boomilever B/C

We are doing Boomilever for the first time and not sure of couple of rules.
1. Do we need to prepare/submit log book for competition?
2. How do we submit the Estimated Loading Supported to the officials at the event? Is it verbal or do we need to write it down as in log?
