Re: Question about tracks.

The FAQ seems to say that enclosed tracks are never allowed, but IMO that is clearly not what the published rules say. The only mention of enclosed track is in 3.k about loops, so I allowed them at our regional. It would be safest to contact your tournament administrators about it.

Re: Fermi Questions B/C

I'm writing this for an invitational. How many questions should be on it? I was thinking 50, but I am seeing some out there with only 30. Thoughts?

Re: Scrambler C

Thanks! Makes a lot more sense now. One issue with a rigid frame that I've found is that if you don't have a drill press and screw up on your axle holes, one wheel won't touch the ground, causing traction/steering issues :( Struggled with this issue for 3 years, tried everything from weights to cut...

Re: Roller Coaster B

Rule 3c says that the ball must be visible at all times. Presumably this means that any fully-enclosed tube would be a construction violation, unless it is transparent. However, if they mean "visible from outside of the device," this would impose a real limitation on track design and make ...

Re: Storm the Castle B

Rule 5d says that the device must return to launch dimensions after firing. Does this really mean that after firing the device can be no more than 65 cm tall? That imposes a real limitation on arm length. I seem to recall height not being an issue in the past.

Re: New York 2022

Seems like very few regional scoresheets are publicly available, which is kind of weird - usually they are posted on this site almost as soon as awards are over. Does anyone have results from the tournaments which have run so far?

Re: Storm the Castle B

What size hook bolt are you getting? I assume the 1" refers to the diameter of the hook, but they are sold by the diameter of the shaft.

Re: Test setup

I got the one that was suggested at the Summer Clinic, the ASUS RT-N12. I have looked at all the documentation I could find and it doesn't actually say if it is dual-band, it just says "Two detachable 5dBi antennas for more powerful and wider coverage." I'm guessing that if it were dual-ba...

Test setup

I'm trying to build a test setup and the router I have has two antennas - as, in fact, do all of the other routers I have examined closely. Am I right in thinking that we are going to leave one of the antenna terminals on the router alone, and hook the testing apparatus up to the other one?
