Re: 40 cm x 40 cm size limit on the mousetrap vehicle
Thank you so much for your response. I didn't realize that the mousetrap vehicle had to fit in a box, it wasn't mentioned in the rules. When the vehicles are impounded at the beginning of the day, will we be given boxes of the dimension you mentioned to pack our mousetrap vehicle? The height of the...

Re: How can the dowel be moved when the mousetrap vehicle travels?
Why would you want the dowel to be moved while the vehicle is traveling? I'm not sure that I understand your question.Zxcvbnm123 wrote:How can the dowel be moved when the mousetrap vehicle travels?

- This may have just been the supervisor, but I witnessed a team impound a second vehicle that they labeled as spare parts. It is always good to have an alternative vehicle in case they let you impound it as well That's interesting to note. 2.a states that a single vehicle is to be impounded. It al...

Now, on to constructive criticism: I think we all know by now that walk-in engineering is never a good idea, because things run late even with proper scheduling. So, next year, please don't try to do walk-in engineering again. It's not going to work. It's also not fair to the engineers who also hav...

I've seen a few vehicles make the bonus at each competition I've competed at but I feel like the bonus is the way to go at state. Yea I thought so too, at the Kansas State Competition, less than 5 teams attempted the bonus. Only 1 team managed to successfully thread the needle but they veered outsi...

Hey guys I know it's been a while but at Illinois scioly State the distance given was 9.0 meters and I am wondering if that would be something allowed for next year? The states distances are supposed to be chosen from intervals of .5 meters but the director said that it never specified in the rules...

Re: Scrambler C
Is it wrong then that I've had ES's let me attempt to fix the device during the 10 minute run to bring it back into spec? It doesn't disallow it in the rules and in other events like maglev I believe that's considered the norm. Your mileage may vary. Your individual regional/state event supervisor ...

Re: Scrambler C
Quick question. Teams that do build and go along with a ramp as their launcher...are they tiered 3? Is a ramp a construction violation, or a competition violation? Someone please explain the difference. :P A ramp would qualify as a construction violation. The difference between construction and com...
