Re: Most competitive state
Ohio, hands down. Why? Ohio's best teams are better than other state's best teams (look at results from nationals) and Ohio's next tier are still able to compete (look at the gap is the state scores on the previous page, it's not a drop-off you're seeing as much as there are a ton of teams that are ...

Re: All-Time Greats?
I think in the past several years Centerville and Troy have to be the top 2 in division C based on their amazing performances (even in the years they didn't actually win). As for over the past 10-12 years, it's hard to differentiate, all of those teams have amazing accomplishments and numerous top 5...

Re: Japan Joining Science Olympiad?
As a former member of one of those Ohio teams I would welcome the challenge; however, let's not overplay what that challenge would be. The top teams in the nation (aka the Solons, Centervilles, Harritons, etc) are not made up of the students struggling in math and science. They aren't the one's who ...

Re: Teams going to Nationals
In case it hasn't been posted yet:
Ohio Results
Division C:
1) Centerville HS
2) Solon HS
Division B:
1) Solon MS
2) Magsig MS
Essentially more of the same from arguably the most competitive state as far as Science Olympiad goes.

Re: Ohio 2011
Teams in Ohio are lucky for several reasons. 1. Having so many good teams (arguably 3 of the top 10 teams in the nation between Solon, Mentor, and Centerville, certainly 3 of the top 20) means that every tournament is very competitive because there is a good chance that you will be facing up to 6 te...

Re: Ohio 2011
I want to move to Ohio. Yea, but then you have to deal with the competition too...at an average invitational in which Solon, Centerville, and mentor are present I would say at least 50% of the first place medals and at least 30% of all awards are taken by those three teams. If you're a super-compet...
