If I use a pendulum to push a wedge between two golf balls, does it have to push the wedge initiating the next action the first time the pendulum ball comes in contact with the wedge, or can the pendulum hit the wedge multiple times before the ball starts rolling down the ramp?

The rules say that though cannot use magnetic dominoes, but does that mean you cannot use magnets in general? For example, if you do a pendulum could you use a magnetic pendulum marble?
