Re: Wright Stuff B

Kyle: It looked like it was a Freedom Flights kit, if I remember correctly. 49ers, you could google FAI modelsupply and get their phone #. Call and see what they have in terms of kits or information. If you are not comfortable building a kit, I think you would find it kind of tough to build from scr...

Build another plane just like the one that dude sat on (without the damage of course), and you should be just fine. ;)

Re: Wright Stuff B

Blue Cobra: You can make tubes with regular printer paper or with the type of tissue paper used to cover wings. The Freedom Flights kits contain a copper wire that is slightly less than 1/16" that you roll the paper on. It takes some practice to get them consistent in size / tightness. When using di...

Re: Wright Stuff B

Glad the discussion got going again. Thanks for the pics. Loved Jeff's plane. Sort of says "It's not rocket science." doesn't it? :D One thing my son played with a lot when trimming was stab incidence. It seems to have great influence on the plane, probably because it is so far from the cg. He impro...

Re: Flying Trio

make WS the primary C division event with modifications each year (no touch, ROG, etc), and vary B division between BLG and basic WS. Thanks. :D :D :D That would be great if possible. Sounds like the trio is the way they are going. I would agree that for C div. BLG, multiple timers would almost be ...

Re: Flying Trio

I'm not saying I prefer BLG to WS, but it is not as simple or as undesirable as some have suggested. ;) I think if you gave C div. builders a crack at BLG, you would pretty much have to get 2 sec. per foot, or not be competitive. Eyeball, I'd have to agree about the weird sayings on the balloons (ou...

Re: Flying Trio

The trio sounds good. Hope my eighth grader can do a flying event until he is a senior. Andrewski: After coaching BLG for 2 years, including being a supervisor at regionals, and coaching Wright Stuff for 2 years, with one as regional supervisor, I have a couple of observations. 1. BLG tends to have ...

Re: Wright Stuff B

I also agree with calgoddard about the wing cord and pusher plane introducing more of a challenge. I was not experienced enough (as most of you are) to reject the idea of the 6.5 cm wing without trying it. At the time, the biggest problem we were having was keeping the planes out of the ceiling. My ...
