On unrelated note, does anyone know why this year's states shirt (http://projects.juniata.edu/scioly/pacomp/tshirt.pdf) says 20th anniversary? I have the 2009 shirt that has a big "25th anniversary" on it, so I'm not really sure what's going on..

What powders would you suggest I use? I would suggest using cornstarch (or something similar) and salt/sugar at least once, especially if you haven't done the event before. Also, if you can use Copper Sulfate, I would highly recommended it. We saw it last year a few times and it produces good react...

Absolutely not. It may mean that in order to answer the question (and get the full 5 points), you have to make an inference from your observation, but a good test/test grader would never dock points because you made an observation and not an inference. Just a general thing It seems that the Chem Events have added more to the Safety Requirements "Long Pants AND LONG sleeved shirt to the wrist AND a chemical apron/lab coat" last year it was optional to have a long shirt under a lab coat now it seems like they want both. Which is a bit red...
