Re: Unofficial Rankings C
Frankly, I'd love to see like a ranking poll conducted. Would anyone be interested?

Re: A national discussion:regional differences
It is interesting, however, to not have conflicts throughout your state, then making it to nationals and having to drop an event, giving it to another person to study. It does add to the team aspect because it takes away events from those who have many and gives them to those who have less or just ...

Re: Unofficial Rankings C
Kentucky I agree. The fact that NY refuses to align its schedule with Nationals handicaps the teams making placing in the top 5 almost impossible. It adds an unnecessary burden. Considering performance at such a high level, the smallest obstacle is difficult to overcome. Even though the term Olympi...

Re: Unofficial Rankings C
Not necessarily true that teams don't do well at their first Nationals at least from NY. NY teams at their 1st Nationals: CNS (6), Webster (8). No telling. I think this is definitely true - the two years Mentor has made it out of Ohio, they've placed 5th and 7th respectively, so it's definitely pos...

Re: Ohio 2014
I'm honestly not sure how Solon, Mentor, Centerville, and Mason will do relative to each other. This will be a very interesting States. There's such a long gap between Regionals and States that all teams can improve rapidly. I think Solon will still escape out of states, but anything is certainly p...

Re: Unofficial Rankings C
The team of F-M's former head coach won States for 7 straight years when she was at a different school and another 14 times when she came to F-M. Her old school stopped winning when she left. The current head coach isn't new to SO but is new as the head coach. Last year was the first year without t...

Re: Unofficial Rankings B
My best guesses: Tie at the top - I think there are primarily two contenders, who were virtual ties last year (5 points apart is a statistical tie haha) 1. Daniel Wright - they are only getting better. 1. Solon - tradition. 3. Meads Mill - now having more experience at nationals, they definitely can...

Re: Unofficial Rankings C
Since I'm sorta out of scioly for a while, I'm not too concerned about posing my rankings. Please take my reasonings with a grain of salt; I'm obviously not that in the know and am speculating for most things. I have a tie at the top because I think it's hard to say. 1. Solon - Yes, Solon has fallen...

Re: Ohio 2014
I saw that someone posted the Division B results from West Liberty-Salem but nobody posted the Division C results yet. So here you go (I'll do top 9, since New Albany received the 6th place trophy once the repeat schools were removed and overall they were actually 9th), along with total points: 1. ...

Re: Will You Make it to Nationals?
For this group, I think that's easier said than done. There are a handful of individuals who aren't exactly...afraid to rack up a few points, and/or simply do not do a lot of work for SO at all. All of us have high expectations of you guys - the coaches, the high schoolers; I'm just not sure some o...
