Re: Solar System B

You might want to go on NASA.gov. I can't think of many right now. I have them bookmarked, but I'm on a school computer. Yes, on a Saturday. Yes, for Science Olympiad. Back to notesheet fonts, you might want to use Arial Narrow. I kind of just rushed through my notesheet for Invitationals, I'll have...

Re: 2011 National Tournament: University of Wisconsin

You mean Ivy League schools? I'm pretty sure that the schools that host tournaments just volunteer to host. I doubt that they would care enough about us to volunteer.

That being said, that WOULD be very cool. :3

They mention the word "crotch" many more times in the book. Interpret that any way you will.

The Pearl was terrible. The only good part was when SPOILER

Re: Can't Judge a Powder B

Also when taking the test, or when practicing, use the name of the test liquid that is given such as H20. Almost all of the judges will dock points for not using the scientific formula. Oh, I never knew that. Thanks for sharing. c: Most of the time it's easier to just write the formula anyway, so i...

Re: Can't Judge a Powder B

They give you ample amounts of powder. Like Purplepeopleeater said, you really shouldn't need any more than they give you. At Invitationals, my partner and I were each given one pen for the notes, and then another for the test. It makes sense that way, you'd want to take different notes at the same ...

Re: Can't Judge a Powder B

Well, what's happened every time I've done an event is that there's a plastic cup with a powder an inch or so high in it. There will also be a spoon in the cup. You can bring spot plates and stuff and just use the spoon to put a small amount of powder in each little hole. That way, you can do pretty...

Re: Worst books

The Extraordinary Adventures of Alfred Kropp. My friends like to call it Alfred Crotch. I have a video of us trying to read this part out loud: "I let go of her wrist. 'Maybe we should--' I started to say, but she didn't let me finish. Out of the dark, a knee landed right in my crotch and I dropped ...

Re: New York 2011

@Primate: Um, the first few Optics questions had a picture of a mirror and some dots labeled A-H, I think, and you had to figure out who the dot-people could or couldn't see in the mirror. And there were some things with Snell's law. The last page had a diagram of an eye, and then you had to label t...
