Re: Sand Timer Task
Clarifications aren't open yet, so for the heck of it I'll ask my question here. Under 3.m, it says "electricity must not be used for further actions after the sand timer has started." Do you suppose they mean after it has started and before it has completed, or from that point on? i.e., ...

Re: 2011 Events.
With respect to Car of Tomorrow, Sumobots, and other new tech events. One of the considerations is always the amount of money required to get the supplies so the school can compete. While I'm sure that many schools build their Sumobots from scratch (at minimal cost) others do not have the experienc...

Re: 2011 Events.
Ack, SumoBots? Great, another "heavy-build" event we know nothing about. And how can you actually test your Bot unless you compete... I'm with AustinRHL...I would think the scheduling and scoring for SB would be a nightmare. Hey, everyone does think Mission Possible will be back next year...

Re: 2011 Events.
Ok, that would be cool to run SumoBots during the judging/scoring, way better than sitting around for two/three hours being bored. And double elimination...hmmmm.... Speaking of double elimination and getting to run devices (like Wright Stuff and EggONaut) twice for your scores... why doesn't Missio...

Re: 2011 Events.
Thanks for the reply. Yeah, no advantage except for the states that have had it for a trial/pilot event like, oh I don't know, New York?... After I posted I took a look at the Helicopter B/C thread and some of the YouTube stuff. Helicopter looks like one of those seemingly easy events that end up ma...

Re: 2011 Events.
Also, what is the topic of JYC going to be next year? Nobody knows what the topic of Junkyard will be until the Building committee gets together after Nationals and decides what they want to implement. So when will that info be released? I promised my team that I would start over the summer so I di...

This PowerPoint is most likely referring to the draft rules discussed at the Summer Institute last July. The disclaimer at the top of the page says: "The information below should not be interpreted as an extension of the rules. The official rules in the Rules Manual take precedence. " In ...
