Re: Where are you going for colleges?

Stanford (I'm going to get flak for this, but I wouldn't have gone even if I had gotten in)
:(

But seriously, congrats! You have a good decision to make. :)
Thank you so much! And I should make myself clear - Stanford's great. For whatever reason, though, it's never been a top choice of mine.

Re: Where are you going for colleges?

How did you get accepted to UPenn but Waitlisted at Northwestern? Nothing against Northwestern (It's a fantastic school), but UPenn is just on a different level... What was going through Norhtwestern's mind?!! I'm confused about that myself, but it may have to do with the fact that I rushed the Nor...

Re: Where are you going for colleges?

So now that acceptances have started rolling in, I feel comfortable enough with my future to post in this thread :) I applied to 18 schools, which I won't list here. However, I will tell you that they were mostly some of the most selective schools in the country, which made the application process a...

Re: Your Daily Random Comment

So as far as college news:

Likely letter from Columbia
Accepted by University of Chicago (let the flame war recommence)
Accepted by University of Vermont
Accepted by Stony Brook University

I'm not complaining.

Re: New York 2013

Luo, you bring up excellent points. But I just think that representation should be appropriate for the level of skill and competition found in each state. By no means should any state be barred from competing, but I think that the system of choosing how many teams go to Nationals is inadequate. I ac...

Re: New York 2013

I'm actually trying to work this through, because I'll admit that the idea has a lot of appeal to me because it would virtually guarantee WM a spot at Nationals every year. But if such a system were to be implemented, it would need to be fair, not designed to the advantage of just a few teams. If we...

Re: New York 2013

Alright, time to make my post about states: AWWWWW YEAHHHHHHHHHHH! I'm super proud of everyone on my team, especially those who were my partners. I can attest firsthand that you are some of the hardest-working, most driven people I have ever met. I'm also incredibly excited that my career in Science...

Re: New York 2013

Results aren't up yet, but Ward Melville took 1st place at the Eastern Long Island regional with 37 points. Second and third were Hills East and Port Jeff. I'm not sure about 4th and 6th, but Brentwood got 5th. Congratulations to everyone going to states! See you in two weeks.
