Re: Rotors

Thanks, and another thing. I believe this was brought up in last year's thread, but never received an answer- Is there a way to mount the "fixed" rotor onto the motor stick temporarily so that you can swap it out for a rotor with a different pitch during testing? I was thinking about maybe creating...

Re: Rotors

Ok, well I have built both and gotten a significantly better time with the non-helical one (not eliptical either, the one I linked to at sciencenc.com). The formula for nearsighted correction is -1/max distance in meters= lens power also, one of the past tests from last year had a few questions about the relation between star temperature and color. Were the rules different last year, because I don't b...

Re: Optics B/C

I'm having trouble discovering how to answer questions involving eyeglasses. For example, let's say A farsighted person has a near point 48cm away. If her glasses allow her to read a newspaper 23cm away, what is the power in diopters of her glasses? I know that the power in diopters equals 1/f, so I...

Re: MagLev C [Trial]

That seems like a perfect definition for levitated, and I would love to see that in next year's rules! However, I believe the word "inadvertent" should be removed, as contact with the track seems necessary for stability.
