Re: 2011 AMC

I'm guessing you had y students buying z pencils at x cents each and the total price was $17.71, so xyz=1771 (because x is in cents)? If so, why would you need the prime factorization of 1771, rather than anything else. As well, did you know 1771 would have three prime factors, or did you predict th...

Re: Wind Power C

n[][]bs But sarsly, sometimes for competitions (hopefully not after Regionals) events are sort of put together at the last minute with people who don't know what they're doing. Apparently some turbines are affected by the set-up change more than others, so did it seem like it seriously impacted anyo...

Re: 2011 Heli Specifications

What difference does t make what we use for the ballast? Weight is weight, non? The difference is that since clay is not mentioned, like it was in WS, some event supervisors have made students remove the clay, which would cause their heli to be less than 4g, unless they have something else with the...

Re: New York 2011

Hey, anyone else here going to the College of St Rose regionals this Saturday besides me? (I'll be the crazy person with blue hair at the Ornithology, Wind Power, Dynamic Planet and Tower events :D ) I'll be there! It's good to see you moved up to Division C- I enjoyed competing against such an obv...

Re: Wind Power C

The problem is, windmills behave very differently with or without a resistor. The blades I made last year that made the top 10 at nationals wouldn't even turn with the new setup. So make sure you test it out with some resistors before competitions! How could the addition of a resistor make your bla...

Re: Wiki is locked for editing for a short bit

I don't know the cause/solution to this, but one section of the Shock Value Wiki (and one section only) now appears to have diamonds with question marks all over it, and most of the links to files are now red.
